Industrial investment and innovation drive Guizhou's economic growth

Since 2020, Guizhou's industrial sector has become a driving force of the province's economy. Its contributions to overall economic growth soared from 17.1 percent to 36.7 percent, industrial investment doubled its share of fixed-asset investment to 34.2 percent, and industrial tax revenue rose to 48.7 percent of total tax revenue.

The province's six major industrial bases now account for 82.2 percent of large-scale industrial output, with strategic breakthroughs across multiple sectors.

Key industries such as phosphate, coal, and fluorochemicals have achieved integrated circular development, strengthening their competitive edge. The newly established new-energy battery materials sector has expanded rapidly, creating a full-cycle ecosystem from ore and materials to batteries and vehicles.

Digital manufacturing, smart industrial integration, and advanced computing have positioned the province as a national leader in intelligent computing resources. At the same time, its renowned baijiu industry has developed a coordinated and resilient industrial chain.

Guizhou's annual industrial investment growth has reached 12 percent, shifting focus from infrastructure to industrial projects and from government-led to market-led investment. Major projects by Huawei Cloud, CATL, and Geely have strengthened supply chains, filled industrial gaps, and upgraded the province's value chain.

Guizhou is also advancing high-end and green industrial development, nurturing 1,587 innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, 82 specialized little giant enterprises, and 13 manufacturing champions.

Green initiatives have exceeded the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) targets, including energy efficiency gains and industrial solid-waste reuse, with 117 national green factories and 26 green industrial parks established.

With 30 reform measures and 45 key development zones receiving targeted support, Guizhou is building a modern industrial ecosystem driven by innovation, digital transformation, and sustainability, setting a benchmark for high-quality industrial growth nationwide.
