At the temperature-controlled, dust-free workshop owned by Guizhou Zhidang Technology Co in the Guiyang Free Trade Zone, black carbon fiber filaments are transformed into lightweight automotive component shells in just 10 minutes.
Using its self-developed epoxy short-cut carbon fiber prepreg technology, the company is helping local carbon fiber products reach international markets.
Unlike traditional continuous carbon fiber, the short-cut process slices fibers into 5- to 50-millimeter segments, which are combined with epoxy resin for efficient curing. This approach reduces production time from 40 minutes to 10 minutes and cuts costs by 30 percent, while enabling the creation of complex, irregular-shaped components.
Guizhou Zhidang's carbon fiber products are already widely used in aerospace, automotive, rail transport, and consumer goods. Since entering the market in 2023, orders for products like computer casings and automotive parts have poured in from the United States, Germany, and Mexico.
Thanks to rapid market growth, the company has expanded to over 110 employees, operates production lines around the clock, and expects annual revenue to double to 50 million yuan in the near future. It holds more than 10 invention patents and 20 utility patents, and is recognized as a provincial-level tech enterprise, actively pursuing national high-tech certification.
