Since the third quarter of 2023, Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province has recorded over 20 percent GDP growth for seven consecutive quarters, making it a leader among China's national-level new areas.
Gui'an is focusing on three major industrial clusters: digital economy, new energy batteries and materials, and advanced equipment manufacturing. The area is now home to 26 large-scale data and computing centers, with intelligent computing accounting for over 98 percent of total capacity.
Over the past three years, Gui'an has launched 217 new projects, including the Huawei Cloud Machang Data Center, and completed 79. Agreements for more than 200 key projects, including Huawei Cloud's AI computing base and HKC's display industrial cluster, have been signed, attracting 40 billion yuan in investment.
By 2024, high-tech manufacturing accounted for 28 percent of the area's industrial added value, while strategic emerging industries made up 38 percent.
Gui'an's trade network now spans 142 countries and regions. Over the past three years, its foreign trade has grown at an average annual rate of 30 percent, with actual use of foreign capital increasing by 56.7 percent annually.
