Guiyang project to start operations

The Xiangqian Eco-Specialty Food Research, Development and Production Headquarters Project, developed by Guizhou Qianbei Mayang Smart Agricultural Technology Development Co, is nearing completion in Guiyang's Nanming district. 

This key project, a modern food enterprise specializing in the integrated operations of Mayang sheep breeding, processing, and sales, is expected to begin operations in June, contributing an estimated 80 million yuan ($10.96 million) in industrial output within the year.

The project was introduced earlier this year through coordinated efforts by the Nanming district federation of industry and commerce and the Nanming investment promotion bureau. It marks a significant step in Guiyang's broader campaign to strengthen its provincial capital economy.

With a total planned investment of 2 billion yuan, the project is being implemented in two phases. The first phase, with an investment of 400 million yuan, includes the construction of three production lines focused on specialty products such as marinated meats, air-dried beef and lamb, preserved vegetables, and chili-based foods. The second phase will involve the additional investment of 1.6 billion yuan to add five more production lines.

By 2029, the project is expected to generate over 2.43 billion yuan in cumulative industrial output, bolstering the region's specialty food sector and economic development.
