Gui'an New Area accelerates deployment of DeepSeek AI model

In recent months, Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province has been advancing the localized deployment of the domestic AI model DeepSeek to accelerate AI-driven innovation.

On Feb 13, Gui'an Development Group completed the deployment and testing of the DeepSeek model series, making it one of the first enterprises in Gui'an New Area and Guizhou province to integrate this cutting-edge technology.

Local universities have also responded swiftly. On Feb 21, the Computing Center of Guizhou University launched the localized DeepSeek-R1 intelligent model, providing comprehensive solutions for students and faculty in academic writing, life planning, and research activities.

Meanwhile, Guizhou Normal University has integrated the DeepSeek model into its "Smart Shiyuan" intelligent teaching platform, accelerating the development of an AI-enhanced educational system.

Gui'an New Area is currently focusing on three key areas: intelligent computing, industry-specific AI model cultivation, and data training. The goal is to establish a world-class AI computing hub.

By the end of 2024, Gui'an had attracted 23 large-scale data (AI computing) centers, reaching a total computing power of 56 Eflops, with over 95 percent dedicated to AI. This makes Gui’an one of the leading regions in China in terms of domestic AI computing resources and capabilities.
