Southwest China's Guizhou province is set to enhance its industrial capabilities, with plans to establish smart factories and 100 digital workshops this year, according to the Guizhou Department of Industry and Information Technology.
The initiative includes the implementation of an "AI + Manufacturing" action plan, which will focus on key sectors such as liquor production, chemicals, non-ferrous metals, steel, building materials, and new materials.
More than 50 typical applications in areas like smart scheduling, equipment maintenance, energy optimization, quality inspection, and intelligent marketing will be developed.
The province will also conduct digital diagnostic assessments for 1,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), encouraging large industrial enterprises and technologically-advanced SMEs to fully embrace digital transformation.
The project aims to advance the construction of industrial internet platforms and promote technological upgrades, especially in sectors like liquor, equipment manufacturing, and chemicals.
Furthermore, Guizhou will support the financing of industrial data assets and explore the establishment of an industrial data exchange system. The "5G + Industrial Internet" program will accelerate the construction of 5G factories and enhance the industrial internet identification system, while also ensuring the safety of industrial networks and data.
By the end of the year, the province aims to achieve an 80 percent adoption rate for digital R&D design tools and a 60 percent rate for computerized numerical control in key processes.
