The Guiyang bureau of industry and information technology announced plans to prioritize industrial development in 2025, aiming to build a modernized industrial system through targeted efforts in traditional, emerging, and future industries.
According to the plan, Guiyang will modernize traditional industries through a number of significant projects.
To boost the production of phosphorus and phosphochemicals, projects such as a 60,000-metric-ton ferric phosphate plant and a 50,000-ton lithium iron phosphate facility are in the works, which are set to boost the sector's output to 43 billion yuan ($5.85 billion).
To strengthen aluminum and aluminum processing, initiatives like a 500,000-ton bauxite desulfurization project and a 30,000-ton ultra-thin aluminum foil production line aim to increase the industry's output value of 35.5 billion yuan.
The eco-friendly food industry is expected to generate an annual output value of 22 billion yuan, with projects such as the Huicheng Eco-Park and Wahaha's new production lines to be established.
The health and pharmaceutical industries are expected to achieve a combined output value of 17 billion yuan.
Meanwhile, Guiyang will expand emerging industries. This includes boosting the development of equipment manufacturing industry. The industrial output of the sector is expected to reach 80 billion yuan, with the automotive sector contributing over 40 billion yuan.
Strong efforts will also be made to support the development of the electronics information manufacturing industry, with the goal of achieving an output value of 43 billion yuan.
Additionally, Guiyang will pioneer future industries including low-altitude economy and commercial space. Tasks will include the construction of the Guiyang Low-Altitude Economy Industrial Park and a satellite production base.
