In recent years, Guizhou province has been working to promote new industrialization, with a focus on promoting the transformation of the real economy and traditional industries. Guizhou Anda Energy Technology Co in Kaiyang county, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is a testament of this industrial transformation.

Kaiyang county is well-known for its rich reserves of phosphate ore. The county is home to 1.9 billion metric tons of proven phosphate ore reserves, and 3 billion tons of prospective reserves.

Guizhou Anda Energy Technology Co, established in August 1996, specializes in the R&D, production and sale of iron phosphate and lithium iron phosphate. Its products are mainly used in the fields of new energy vehicle power batteries and energy-storage batteries. The company is one of the main suppliers of well-known domestic lithium battery manufacturers such as BYD, CALB, and Sunwoda Electronic Co.

In 1996, the company had relatively low industrial hierarchy, equipment, and innovation capabilities, leading to significant pressure for the company to upgrade.

In 2009, the company began focusing on the research and development of lithium iron phosphate cathode materials. After 27 years of efforts, with policy support from the local government, it has successfully transformed from a traditional, high-energy consumption, low value-added phosphorus chemical enterprise into a new energy battery material company driven by technological innovation.

The company now has a production capacity of 150,000 tons per year for lithium iron phosphate. Its annual business revenue increased from 300 million yuan ($40.98 million) in 2010 to 6.5 billion yuan in 2022, with various taxes reaching 237 million yuan in 2022.
