Since the start of this year, Guiyang City and Guian New Area have focused on the manufacturing industry to promote their industrial development.

In the first half of the year, the gross domestic product of Guiyang reached 236.10 billion yuan ($32.86 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.5 percent. The added value of the secondary industry was 87.54 billion yuan, an increase of 4.7 percent, while the industrial added value above designated size surged by 7.2 percent year-on-year, an increase of 3.5 percentage points from the first quarter.

All three major categories maintained positive growth, with the manufacturing industry growing by 7.6 percent year-on-year. The equipment manufacturing sector reported a year-on-year increase of 22.3 percent in added value, while the computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries grew by over 30 percent.

Guizhou Hangfei Precision Manufacturing Co has increased its investment in technological innovation, continuously optimized its industrial structure, and launched the aerospace engine component capacity expansion project, establishing a digital production line. The project received 30 million yuan in support from the New Industrialization Fund. Combining the benefits from government policies, the project injected powerful momentum into the company's new revenue growth and accelerated its intelligent transformation.

In the second half of the year, the company will continue to invest in process-level systems for the production of MES and ERP, further enhancing the company's level of informatization and intelligence.

In Nanming district in Guiyang, the Microview Electronics Co's "Electronic Paper Display" project was officially put into operation recently. The project, worth 1 billion yuan, will include the construction of 21 new automated production lines.

After reaching full production within 5 years, the project is expected to achieve an industrial output value of over 10 billion yuan, providing strong support for the development of the electronic information manufacturing industry in Nanming district.

In Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Guizhou Yaguang Electronic Technology Co recently joined forces with two Fortune Global 500 companies, SAIC Group and Germany's Mahle Group to release three new technologies: efficient rectification, integrated control of automotive starter generators, and control of new energy vehicle electronic pump motors.

This marked the company's official transition from the traditional automotive electronics field into the new energy vehicle electronics field.

Only three companies worldwide currently possess the efficient rectification technology, and Yaguang is the country's first company to adopt it. It can improve vehicle fuel efficiency by 4 percent and has already been supplied in bulk to SAIC-GM.
