Cities, provinces and regions across China have recently been giving full play to their respective advantages in terms of characteristic industries and accelerating the cultivation of characteristic industrial clusters of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
According to the latest statistics, more than 31,000 SMEs have settled in the country's first batch of 100 characteristic industrial clusters for SMEs, with an annual output value of more than 2.5 trillion yuan ($351.26 billion) and an average annual growth rate of 19.2 percent.
Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been focusing on the advantages of its aero-engine equipment manufacturing industry, to promote the development of an industrial cluster covering the entire industrial chain of aero-engines, engine blades, and servo systems.
The output value of one enterprise in Guiyang that produces titanium alloy sheets has increased by more than 60 percent year-on-year, with its number of employees growing by nearly 2,000.
This year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will cultivate about 100 more characteristic industrial clusters for SMEs nationwide, and promote local areas to increase efforts to accelerate digital and green transformation, and improve their governance and service capabilities.
