Phosphorus chemical industry chain project launched in Guiyang

The China phosphorus chemical industry chain energy-saving and green low-carbon promotion project was launched in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on March 28.

The project is an international cooperation project supported by the Global Environment Facility, with the United Nations Development Program serving as the international implementation agency and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Natural Resources serving as the domestic implementation agencies.

The project aims to promote the widespread application of energy-saving and green low-carbon technologies in China's phosphorus chemical industry and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the sector.

Guizhou has carried out in-depth explorations of the three major approaches, including building materials, filling, and acid production, and established an industrial chain for the comprehensive utilization of phosphogypsum resources.

In 2022, the comprehensive utilization capacity of phosphogypsum resources in the province exceeded 13 million metric tons, with a comprehensive utilization rate of 96.43 percent, ranking among the forefront in the country.
