Guiyang resumes work, production to maintain stable growth in Q1

Guiyang in Guizhou province has taken a number of measures to speed up the resumption of work and production in order to ensure the steady growth of the industrial economy in the first quarter of this year.

The city issued a key plan on maintaining Guiyang and Guian New Area's stable economic development in the first quarter as well as the resumption of work and production after the Spring Festival holiday.

It focuses on industrial enterprises above designated size and a series of industrial projects. The plan encourages enterprises to implement the safety protocols for production during the Spring Festival and post-holiday resumption of production.

During the Spring Festival holiday this year, a total of 179 enterprises in the city continued to operate, while 655 halted production and construction on a total of 165 key projects was suspended.

Guiyang is also striving to improve services and help enterprises stabilize production. The city encourages enterprises to enhance confidence in future development under the current economic situation and helps them solve difficulties affecting operations. Since the start of the year, the city has offered enterprises more than 100 times and helped them tackle more than 30 issues.

The city is guaranteeing the supply of electricity, natural gas and clean water for enterprises, as well as other items required for production and project construction, after the resumption of operations after the festival.

As of Jan 31, the city has helped 749 enterprises resume operations, a resumption rate of 90 percent, an increase of 7.5 percentage points compared with the same period last year. All enterprises in the city are expected to fully resume operations before Feb 6. The city also resumed work on a total of 112 projects, a resumption rate of 67.9 percent, while work on the remainder of the projects is expected to resume before Feb 6.
