Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, will make all-out efforts to promote the steady development of its industrial economy and strive to build a core engine for strengthening the provincial capital.

Pan Jun, director of the Guiyang municipal bureau of industry and information technology, said that during the just-concluded Guizhou Two Sessions plans were formulated for the province to promote new-type industrialization and strengthen the industrial economy, shedding light on work to be carried out this year.

Targeted measures will be taken in 2023 to ensure that the industrial output above a designated size increases by 8 percent year-on-year, industrial investment reaches 75 billion yuan ($11 billion) and 200 additional industrial enterprises above a designated size – those with annual output value of 20 million yuan or more – are created.

Efforts will be made to pool resources and production factors, such as land, housing, talent, electricity, gas and capital, to serve industrial development, with a goal to start construction on 8 million square meters of standard factory buildings, put 15,000 mu (1,000 hectares) of industrial land into use, and become home to 22,000 additional professionals in manufacturing.

The city will strive to allocate about 90 billion yuan for new industrial projects throughout the year, make greater efforts to cultivate leading enterprises, backbone enterprises, and listed enterprises, build a high-quality and efficient service system, and boost the number of industrial market entities to 23,000 by the end of the year.

It will also work to secure stable industrial chains, step up the building of a modern industrial system, and strive to boost the total industrial output of State-owned enterprises engaged in manufacturing to 110 billion yuan.
