The pharmaceutical industry and electronic information manufacturing industry in Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, have experienced rapid development, providing a driving force for the district's further industrialization.
At present, Wudang has 11 pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprises above designated size. Of which, eight are traditional Chinese medicine manufacturers, two are chemical drug manufacturers, and one is a pharmaceutical packaging and auxiliary material manufacturer.
In 2020, the industrial output value of the pharmaceutical industry above designated size in Wudang reached 6.84 billion yuan ($975.75 million), accounting for 43.3 percent of the district's total industrial output value, and 37.1 percent of the total industrial output value of Guiyang city.
In 2021, the industrial output value of the pharmaceutical industry above designated size in Wudang came in at 5.94 billion yuan, and during the period from January to November this year, it reached 4.78 billion yuan.
Meanwhile, in 2021, the total output value of Wudang's electronic information manufacturing industry reached 6.62 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 56.53 percent.
It accounted for 39.43 percent of the area's total output value of industries above designated size and 20.9 percent of the city's electronic information manufacturing output value. From January to November 2022, the total output value of the electronic information manufacturing industry in Wudang came in at 7.16 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.89 percent.
It is estimated that Wudang will reach an output value of 8 billion yuan within the year, accounting for 45 percent of the total industrial output value above the designated size in the district. It will also account for more than 20 percent of the output value of Guiyang's electronic information manufacturing industry.
