The Bureau of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently announced the list of the top 500 projects of the 7th "Maker in China" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for SMEs, 13 of which were from Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The competition aims to further enhance the innovation capability and high-quality development of SMEs.
This year, 35 regional competitions, six industrial chain synergy competitions, five key industry special competitions, and one overseas regional competition were held. Over 37,000 projects were registered for application, an increase of 18 percent year-on-year.
To encourage more outstanding Guizhou enterprises and projects to participate in the competition, from June to August this year, Guizhou held the 7th "Maker in China" Guizhou Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for SMEs, in which 483 projects participated.
The top 16 projects represented Guizhou and participated in the selection of the national top 500 projects, demonstrating the innovation and entrepreneurship vitality of SMEs in the province.
The 13 Guizhou projects included in the national top 500 list are engaged in network and information security, intelligent manufacturing and equipment, biomedicine, and new materials.
