Guizhou aims to lead in new-type industrialization

Southwest China's Guizhou province has upgraded its traditional industries and is cultivating its emerging industries in order to promote the development of new-type industrialization in the region.

The province has taken the expansion of emerging industries as an important starting point for achieving industrial breakthroughs.

Over the past five years, the industrial added value of basic materials, new energy vehicles and modern chemicals have become the fastest-growing areas in the province.

Aiming at taking the initiative in strategic emerging industries, Guizhou has promoted the upgrading of its leading enterprises, extended their industry supply chain and developed industrial clusters with important commercial influence.

As exemplified by the presence of Chinese battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd, the province has gathered a large number of top enterprises and key projects in the field of new energy.

The development direction of the entire industrial supply chain in Guizhou is clear: to become one of the important production and supply bases of power battery materials in the country.

In the process of promoting new-type industrialization, Guizhou has also improved the competitiveness of its emerging industries by creating demonstration innovation platforms and accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Focusing on the development of cutting-edge and common key technologies, Guizhou has filled domestic gaps in various technologies. These include technologies used in the manufacture of aerospace fasteners – pins, rivets, screws, bolts and nuts and specialty fasteners made from high-performing alloys – as well as in the intelligent manufacturing of aerospace forging and in making super-sized touch screens.
