From January to August, the added value of industries above a designated size in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, increased by 8.8 percent year-on-year.
The growth rate was 5.2 percentage points higher than the national growth rate and 1.7 percentage points higher than the provincial growth rate.
It ranked 4th among provincial capitals in West China and 3rd among cities in Guizhou.
