Guiyang is the most successful and largest city in the global methanol fuel and methanol vehicle market promotion, with a wide coverage area.
The city has combined energy transformation with the development of the methanol vehicle industry, forming a demonstration effect on the high-quality development of the economy and ecological civilization construction.
"Guizhou is rich in coal reserves, and the production of methanol through the coal chemical industry creates an innate resource advantage," said Xiao Lu, first-level investigator of the Guiyang municipal bureau of industry and information technology.
Guiyang is currently home to more than 17,000 methanol fueled taxis and 67 methanol filling stations. It has established a complete system integrating methanol vehicle production, sales, services, and methanol fuel transportation and distribution supply.
Methanol fueled taxis have helped reduce carbon emissions and accelerated the efficient use of coal chemical products in Guiyang.
