Guizhou's industry, economy experience robust growth in Q1

In the first quarter of the year, the added value of industries above a designated size in Southwest China's Guizhou province increased by 15.2 percent year-on-year – 8.7 percentage points higher than the national growth rate – ranking it third in the country.

The growth rate for industrial investment in the province was 17.1 percentage points higher than the national average growth rate during the period.

The total output value of the province's top 10 industrial industries above a designated size grew by 24.1 percent year-on-year.

Of these, nine industries maintained double-digit growth in Q1, including advanced equipment manufacturing, high-quality tobacco and alcohol. They were joined by big data electronic information, ecological specialty foods, basic materials, new energy vehicles, new building materials, modern engineering and the modern energy sector.

In addition, the software services industry grew rapidly, with the operating income of the province's software and information technology services industry increasing by 116.1 percent year-on-year.

The industry's growth rate remained number one in the country and its scale ranked 15th nationally, an increase of four places from the end of last year.
