Television manufacturer Guiyang Hisense Electronics Co, located in the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone – in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is currently on a drive to aggressively expand into international markets.
The company is confident that it has the technical edge to do so. Each TV produced at its workshop undergoes more than 50 processes such as panel positioning, wiring and testing and is then packaged and sold to various places at home and abroad.
In the first quarter, the company produced about 550,000 TV sets, a year-on-year increase of 38 percent, of which 177,100 were sold overseas.
"This year, the company plans to produce more than 2.6 million TV sets, of which 600,000 will be exported," said company general manager An Yujiang.
On March 14, the first test freight train between Guiyang's Gaimao Railway Station and Shenzhen city's Pinghu South Railway Station started operating.
On the train, 3,000 of the company's TV sets were transferred to Shenzhen and then exported overseas by sea.
Last year, the company's total import value was about 36.03 million yuan ($5.66 million). This year, the company's imports in the first quarter alone reached $4.6 million.
The company said it will make every effort to break the total import and export volume of 100 million yuan this year.
