Guiyang city – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is continuing to standardize its green construction and eco-friendly industrial production, reduced production costs and improved environment, in a development path that it is said to have been taking in recent years.
The city is understood to have achieved full coverage in the four areas of green manufacturing systems: green factories, green industrial parks, green supply chain management demonstration enterprises and green design products, ranking it first in the province in terms of scale.
Guiyang has established what is known as a dynamic green manufacturing system development list and over 80 companies and 50 products have been included in it.

In terms of green factories, the city has supported enterprises that carry out green upgrading and transformation. The focus has been on key aspects in order to build eco-friendly production plants, such as the intensification of land use, use of benign raw materials, clean production, recycling of waste and low-carbon energy.
Enterprises have also been encouraged to develop products harmless or less harmful to the ecological system, the environment and human health – that also consume less resources and energy and that are of high quality.
In addition, the city has supported its national and provincial development zones to move towards green manufacturing systems. It has also encouraged enterprises to bolster their management of product designs, raw materials procurement, production and transportation.
In 2021, Guiyang was home to 12 national-level and 15 provincial-level green factories, 13 national-level green design products, three national-level green industrial parks, as well as one national-level and one provincial-level green supply chain management demonstration enterprise.
