Companies in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, began restarting production after the Spring Festival holiday, which ended on Feb 6.

By Feb 8, Guiyang's Baiyun district reported that 69 profit-earning service companies above a designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($3.1 million) had resumed output, accounting for 82.1 percent of the district's total.

The remainder of the companies were scheduled to resume production before Feb 15.

Wudang district's bureau of industry and information technology sent officials to visit companies that had already resumed production after the break. The officials learned about any difficulty encountered and offered guidance on novel coronavirus pandemic prevention and production safety measures.

Since the first workday after the holiday, the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone has seen various manufacturers resume production to meet production targets for the first quarter of the year.

To support the companies, the development zone is offering a bonus and other preferential policies for them to increase efficiency and production.

Guiyang's Xifeng county has organized officials and government departments to visit its companies and help them to resume production before Feb 20.

By Feb 8, it was estimated that 31 out of Xifeng's 45 industrial companies, four out of six municipal key projects, three out of nine county-level projects, three out of seven construction companies and 49 out of 53 service companies had resumed production.

On Feb 9, Xiuwen county launched five key projects with a total investment of 528 billion yuan, to lay a solid foundation for economic development in the current year.
