The "big data + intelligent manufacturing" model has reportedly transformed Guizhou Aviation Technical Development Co from an unknown private firm in southwestern China into a world-class aviation spare parts supplier.
Liu Zhaohui, vice general manager of the company, made that point in an interview, saying that the model has improved the quality consistency, stability and traceability of their products.
In 2017, the company coordinated with Northwestern Polytechnical University and established a digital and intelligent aviation workshop.
According to Liu, the firm has taken the lead in China in achieving intelligent and digital control over the forging process of the aviation product. Without real-time monitoring and precautions, the temperature used to be uncontrollable, which could lead to material waste. Now the numerical control rate of key equipment has reached 98 percent, raising productivity by 55 percent, the material utilization rate by 30 percent, and the product qualification ratio from 88 percent to 99 percent.
The firm was Guizhou's first company to list on the Sci-Tech Innovation Board and it has now become a long-term supplier of renowned enterprises such as Aero Engine Corporation of China and General Electric Company.
Guiyang's key development zones and districts have been working to integrate big data, talent and industries, and by 2025, Guiyang's major industrial indicators will double.
