Guiyang adds 13 provincial enterprise technology centers

Southwest China's Guizhou province added 29 provincial enterprise technology centers, according to an announcement released recently by the Guizhou Department of Industry and Information Technology.

Out of the total, 13 are based in the provincial capital of Guiyang, including the enterprise technology centers of Guizhou CRRC Green Environment Co and Guizhou Chalco Aluminium Co.

An enterprise technology center refers to a technology R&D and innovation organization established by a company, according to the needs of market competition.

It is responsible for laying out enterprise technology innovation plans, carrying out research and development, creating and using intellectual property rights, establishing a technology standards system and hiring and training innovative people.

It is understood that in 2021, Guiyang city has organized companies to undertake the development and application of provincial enterprise technology centers.

Meanwhile, the city has made moves to improve its industrial technology innovation ecosystem and to form a national, provincial and municipal-level developmental working mechanism. To do so, in 2021 the city has initiated the certification of municipal enterprise technology centers and there are currently 26 companies on the list.

At present, there are 268 enterprise technology centers at the provincial level and above in the province, of which 150 are in Guiyang, accounting for 55.97 percent of the province's total.
