Guizhou launches industrial design competition

The Second Industrial Design Competition of Guizhou Province was launched at School of Mechanical Engineering at Guizhou University – located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – on July 20.

The ongoing competition is being hosted by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and organized by Guizhou University.

Its aim is to encourage design innovation, promote the in-depth integration of industrial design and manufacturing, and promote the high-quality development of Guizhou's industrial economy.

Domestic and foreign professional design institutions, manufacturing companies, colleges and universities, individual designers and design groups can all participate in the competition.

The registration time for entries is scheduled to run from July 18 to Aug 18, the preliminary evaluation time taking place on Aug 20-22 and the final evaluation being held on Sept 10-12.

The winning works will be displayed at the Guiyang Industrial Products Fair on Sept 24-26 and they will receive awards and medals worth 2,000-50,000 yuan ($307.51-$7,687.92).
