Guiyang to speed up development of industries

Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, plans to speed up the high-end, green and intensive development of its industries in the next five years, according to Liu Liangguo, director of Guiyang municipal bureau of industry and information technology.

The city has plans to support enterprises using new-generation information technologies such as big data and cloud computing and accelerate the promotion of intelligent transformation in the electronics information, equipment manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors.

It will expand and strengthen its advanced equipment manufacturing industry. It will focus on new energy vehicles and aerospace equipment, as well as the electronics information manufacturing industry operating in the fields of new electronic components, semiconductor integrated circuits, servers and smart terminals.

Guiyang will also expand the innovation and added value of independent brands and strive to establish a range of high-end, intelligent and green Guiyang and Guizhou products and brands.

Consumer goods manufacturing industries -- such as specialty foods, textiles services, smart homes and consumer electronics -- will be developed, as well as strategic emerging industries including new energy and new materials.

Construction of a number of specialist industrial parks will go ahead, including the Guizhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Industrial Park, Guizhou Light Industry Textile Industrial Park, the Guian Suzhou Industrial Park and the Guian High-end Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park.

In addition, a number of projects such as the Guizhou Baoneng New Energy Automobile Industrial Park will reportedly complete their construction and start operations as soon as possible.
