Real economy grows faster in Guiyang

Guizhou government officials have emphasized the need to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and promote the deep integration of big data and the real economy, at the Economic Work Conference of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, which was held recently in Guiyang. 

Guiyang is currently in a period of rapid development. The city's business environment is gradually being optimized. More and more companies and talents have been attracted to the city, boosting high-quality economic development. 

The Huaguoyuan business district in downtown Guiyang has attracted more than 22,000 market entities to invest and start businesses there, further inspiring entrepreneurship and innovation among the public, according to official statistics. 

In May 2019, Guizhou Xinhuo Integrated Circuit Research Center and Integrated Circuit Industry Service Platform, also known as the Guizhou ICC, was put into operation at the Huaguoyuan Asia-Pacific Center. 

The research center integrates technology development and industrialization based on the resources of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. It now serves as an important platform for promoting high-quality economic development in Nanming district, Guiyang. 

Since it started operations, Guizhou ICC has attracted 17 high-tech enterprises, including Wuhan Homsh Company which provides iris recognition technology services to the State Ministry of Public Security, and Quanhua-Opto Technology Co Ltd, the first in the world to develop a smart curve reminder system and intelligent zebra crossings. 

The research center has introduced a fire alarm temperature sensing system, and adopted the world’s most advanced linear temperature sensing fire detection technology to achieve a wide range of real-time temperature measurement in the area. 

Its self-developed intelligent smoke and gas sensors can detect fire from multiple dimensions and reduce false alarm rates. The technology has been certified and is expected to be applied inside high-rise buildings in Huaguoyuan. 

Chip production is an important part of the integrated circuit industry and requires a lot of basic software and hardware support and packaging testing. 

Guizhou ICC plays an important role in promoting the development of the integrated circuit (IC) industry. It introduces companies that have IC-related technology advantages, strong research and development capabilities, and industrial transformation capabilities, allowing them to play a positive role in the development of the province's IC industry. 

"Chips are closely related to everyone's life. LED lights are actually controlled by chips. The mobile phones and TVs we use also need chips," said Ding Yun, deputy director of the Guizhou Integrated Circuits Research Center of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. 

According to Ding, common LED lights emit blue light, which can cause damage to the eyes, while Guizhou ICC has introduced the only domestic eye protection lamp that uses IC technology to solve the blue light problem. The technology will be promoted throughout the region.
